Fees

Applicants will be responsible for the following fees:

• Fingerprinting ($39.00 online + $10.00 on site)
• VIT Certificate ($78.00 to District)
• Program fee to ESC 13

Program Option

• Year 1 $400.00 USD
• Year 2 $100.00 USD
• Year 3 $100.00 USD
• Returning Year 4 $100.00 USD
• Returning Year 5 $100.00 USD

J-1 Visa Extension Fee

• Year 4 Extension $800.00 USD
• Year 5 Extension $800.00 USD
• Two-Year Extension $1600.00 USD

Expenses

Applicants will be responsible for the following costs and expenses:

• SEVIS Fee (currently $180)
• Consular/visa application fees (currently $160)
• Travel expenses to and from the United States
• Personal expense money for the initial costs upon arriving in the United States prior to receipt of the first paycheck
• Certification or licensure costs
• All costs and fees associated with dependents including insurance premiums
• Typical expenses such as housing, bills, transportation, food, and all other expenses in the United States

Health Insurance

All J-1 teachers will need a health insurance that covers the following concepts:

• Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness;
• Repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000;
• Medical evacuation in the amount of $50,000; and
• Deductibles not to exceed $500 per accident or illness.
